Let’s be frank, the first ‘Ghost Rider’ film from 2007 was really rather poor, a incoherent mash-up of redemptive, back-from-the-dead nonsense and gaudy cartoon violence. But, under the directorial hands ofMark Neveldine and Brian Taylor – the guys behind such extreme gonzo efforts as ‘Gamer’ and ‘Crank’ – this sequel looks set to be an altogether different beast. Workaholic leading man Nic Cage returns as Johnny Blaze (AKA Ghost Rider), the stunt rider who has the ability to transform into a flaming-skulled biker, and this time his task is to foil plans the plans of the devil who is intending to take on human form and take over the world. And the devil is set to be played by Ciarán Hinds.

The Dictator Review

It’s probably best to know as little as possible about Sacha Baron-Cohen’s various starring vehicles (‘Borat’, ‘Brüno’) to garner maximum enjoyment and, of course, shock value out of them. This forthcoming film, teaming the fearless star with director Larry Charles once more, is said to be about a dictator in exile who is desperately trying to keep his country free from the scourge of democracy. Although the mooted cast includes a host of Proper Actors, among them Anne Faris, Megan Fox, John C Reilly and Sir Ben Kingsley, talk suggests the film will still have the spontaneous, prankish feel of his two previous films. It’s been scheduled for a May 11 2012 release date, which is the week before Cannes kicks off.
